Digital Education

Digital education is a mandatory subject of study for primary school pupils at all educational establishments of our country. This initiative was launched in 2018 and was aimed to teach children personal computers, technologies and robots, to breed passion for STEM education and to encourage children to choose a profession of the future. This Programme was launched after signing a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the development of digital education in general education, by and between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, National Association of ITC Companies and Tekwill Project.

This subject was taught to pupils of first classes over the first year of project implementation. Then, in 2019 and in 2020, digital education became a subject of study for pupils of second and, respectively, third classes.

Aiming to continue the implementation of ‘Tekwill in Every School’ project, Tekwill will organise training sessions for teachers, depending on training groups for each class and on available textbooks (in the Romanian and Russian languages):

•    First class (in the Romanian and Russian languages),
•    Second class (in the Romanian and Russian languages),
•    Third form (in the Romanian and Russian languages).

Criteria for registration for the Training Programme are as follows:

  • You are a primary school teacher (of the first to third classes) at the school, which has already been connected to ‘Tekwill in Every School’ Programme
  • You are available to take part in the summer Training Programme,
  • You are available to present a final project attesting the acquisition of new digital knowledge/skills.

Period of training: from 26 July to 6 August 2021 (a total number of 8 to 10 sessions lasting two hours each).

Presentation of final projects within the training programme: from 13 to 20 August 2021.

After the training programme is completed, teachers will have 7 to 10 days to create a final project that will attest the acquisition of new digital knowledge/skills.

The number of groups formed will be announced on 14 June 2021, depending on the number of queries received and on registrations of primary school teachers.

In 2018, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, National Association of ITC Companies and Tekwill Project signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning development of digital education in general education. This Memorandum suggested supporting the development of teaching materials as required for implementation of digital education.
